Golden West College with my 4 older brothers mid '80's.

Q: What attracted you to outdoors?
Loved hanging out with my brothers and when I finally received my first "hand me down" racquet, I was hooked!!!

Q: How long have you been involved with outdoor tournaments?
Played in my first outdoor tourney when I was 10 years old and have played in every Outdoor Nationals since.
Ravi Sohoni and I also ran the Outdoor Nationals from 1991 to 1993.

Q: How did playing outdoor help / effect your indoor game?
I started outdoors and didn't start playing indoors until I was 16 years old. There was definitely an adjustment
period, but I believe my conditioning outdoors, helped me to overcome my deficiences indoors.

Q: Coolest place you have seen or played?
Waikiki, Hawaii. Wish there were more courts, but you can't beat playing ball on the sand and jumping into the
water in between games. Priceless!!!

Q: Greatest match you ever played?
Semi match with Josh Tucker against Rocky Carson and Rob Hoff in the 2007 WOR Championships. We lost the
match 11-10, but I believe that loss ignited our fire and we've been doing pretty well ever since!

Q: Greatest match you ever saw?
Brian Hawkes winning his final match against Rocky Carson in the 2005 Outdoor National Finals.

Q: Your best outdoor shot?
Can't give up any info like that!!!

Q: Best outdoor player you have ever seen?
Brian Hawkes.

Q: What's the biggest difference between indoor and outdoor?
Besides the obvious, how about women in bikinis, BBQ, family and friends cruising around on skateboards and bikes,
kids in the playground, fresh air, usually near a beach, beach chairs, hooting and heckling, etc.

Q: Any additional thoughts you would like to add?
Hmmm, I haven't played indoors for about 6 months!!!
